Initial CPC refers to new legislation which was introduced in September 2009 for LGV drivers.

New LGV Drivers

Any Driver who has obtained their first LGV entitlement after the 10th September 2009 are required to complete their Initial Driver CPC. This consists of a Driver CPC Case Study Theory Test and a Practical Demonstration Test.

The Initial Driver CPC lasts for 5 years and drivers will need to complete 35 hours of periodic training within these 5 years to retain their Driver CPC Qualification which entitles them to drive professionally.
